Algarve beaches

Come and enjoy beautiful beaches, semi-tropical weather and excellent cuisine, while relaxing in the portuguese Algarve.

Secluded
Lie in the shade of pine trees on the golden beaches of Alagoa and Cabeco near Castro Marim, beside the Rio Guadiana, bordering Spain.

Take a boat to secluded sands on Tavira Island and the blue lagoons of Ria Formosa Nature Reserve from Culatra to Faro Island, East-Central Algarve. Find solitude in the sandy coves hidden at the foot of the cliffs North and East of Cabo de Sao Vicente and on the wild deserted beaches by Aljezur on the West coast. Here are a few more, of the many, suggestions:

Sporty
Sail from Vilamoura marina along the coast to Falsia for windsurfing and jet skiing. Go body boarding at Praia do Alvor and surfing at Vale de Centeanes. Succumb the tempting wide beach of Praia da Rocha, Portimao, for watersports and boat rides, or for wilder waves, head to West coast beaches of Vila do Bispo, Martinho and Zavial.

Family
From Falesia to Albufeira, discover beaches sheltered by the high red cliffs, within easy reach of shops, restaurants and family facilities. Children have it all at Carvoeiro, with restaurants, watersports and small beaches with calm waters, as well as the Slide and Splash waterpark nearby. Let the children play at the kids’ club in golf resorts from Tavira and Vilamoura to Sagres while you improve your handicap or indulge in beauty treatments at the hotel spa.

Party
Indulge in drinks at sunset on the beach at Carvoeiro – leave it to the teenagers to dance up a sand storm as they empty out of the nearby disco. Praia da Rocha’s cafes and restaurants spill onto the beach while Vilamoura’s waterfront buzzes with bars. In Albufeira, young partygoers leave the beach in favour of partying in town.
